My Story...Past and Present

Followed by some of my favorite things.

Tucked away in Baltimore County, MD, you will find the tiny, little, modest neighborhood of Tollgate. This little community was a special place where neighbors were like family. These were my stomping grounds but my view of the world was narrow, compared to the other public school kids in the neighborhood. We were those kids...The ones who went to church all the time and attended a private Christian school.

At church, we were one of the most conservative families in the congregation. Unfortunately, many factors led me to the conclusion that Christianity wasn't for me. I longed for a relationship with this Jesus I heard so much about but something wasn't adding up. If Jesus was so great why did I feel so chained? Where was this peace and joy they spoke of? Why were there so many "rules"? By the age of 18, I turned completely away from God and was on a mission to find love, acceptance, and happiness elsewhere. It didn't take long for me to make a complete and total mess of my life. I was in a dark place and things couldn't have gotten much worse. Oddly, this was exactly where I needed to be!

Rescued, Forgiven and Transformed

At the age of 27, right there, in the middle of my self-induced mess, is where I found Jesus! Not in Church! Not at a religious event or gathering but in my little white Toyota driving up Interstate 95! Ironically, it was my brokenness that led me to Jesus and I finally gave up running from the only one I ever really needed to begin with. Letting go and letting God do what only He could do was freeing! He rescued me, forgave me, accepted me, and transformed me! From that day forward I have been determined to pursue an authentic relationship with him and have made it my mission to help others do the same. I have a new understanding of the "rules" in scripture and the Bible is my favorite thing to read! I'd love to tell you more sometime!

Since the day Jesus pulled me out of the rubble, a lot has changed! I was a single mom with one 7-year-old. I have since remarried, been blessed with a bonus son, 6 new children, and one amazing little grandson.

God has blessed my broken road but there have been major bumps along the way! God never promised there wouldn't be troubles. He did however promise He would be with me. Having Him with me has made all the difference in the world!

Today we live in the City of York Pennsylvania. I call our house "My dream home in God's location." Our big, old, built-in 1887, Victorian home came complete with the perfect wrap-around front porch; A porch I envisioned facing a big beautiful front yard in the country. But facing a factory will have to do, because apparently, God has work for us right here, smack in the middle of where we didn't want to be. It's always been like this. He seems to do His biggest work in me when I'm not where I want to be. One thing I know for sure is that it's always been worth it in the end!

Coffee, coffee, and more coffee. Want to meet for coffee? I'm in!
Riding. No not bicycles...think Harley.
Family Time.... especially if it includes ice cream.
Reading, audible books and podcasts.
Relaxing on beaches with clear water.

What I Believe

I believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant, Word of God, and that the only way to heaven is through Jesus. You must accept that Jesus, God's only Son, died and rose from the dead to pay the price for your sins.

Without repentance for those sins, there is no forgiveness of sins. Once you accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.; baptism is a symbol and public profession of your belief and acceptance of Jesus.

Baptism represents public belief and acceptance of what Jesus did through his death, burial, and resurrection.
